Black Lives Matter
I have been trying to understand how I would feel if I had to live while being black. And moreover, how would I feel if I had to be concerned about my children and their safety because of their skin color and the incorrect judgement of them by others. This led to trying to understand issues and levels of discriminations experienced by black people. I came to the understanding living while black is like being in the candy store but you can't purchase any candy. And it's not that you don't have the money. The store owner won't let you make a purchase. Black people experience life with fences, boundaries unfairly placed to keep them from success. My artwork is the avenue I have to relay the challenges and terrible abuse people of color live with on a daily basis.
